Apraxia Webinar: Making Sense of it All
May 25 @ 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm$35
There is a new Webinar coming up from Apraxia-Kids on May 25, 2018 from 12:00 to 1:30 PM (CST) called “Tests, Measurements, Technical Terms. What Does it All Mean? Making Sense of It All.” The webinar is presented by Dr. Amy Meredith. Cost is $35 per participant.
Nothing can be more intimidating and confusing as a bunch of numbers, symbols, and jargon attempting to explain a child’s capabilities on a diagnostic report. This session is designed to help participants understand how to discern much of the technical terms and measures typically used in speech-language pathology and audiology. The session will also address the types of information that should to be included in the report to make it more helpful to future professionals the child may work with, as well as family members.
Dr. Amy Meredith received her doctorate from the University of Washington in 2000. She is currently a Clinical Professor and the Director of Graduate Studies at Washington State University in Spokane, WA. She is an experienced clinician who has worked in the public schools, hospitals, and private practice settings for 20 years. Her primary clinical and research interest is in children with motor speech disorders, and she has published and presented her research on childhood apraxia of speech (CAS) at national conferences. She teaches classes pertaining to craniofacial anomalies and counseling skills. She has two adopted children with cleft lip and palate, which has allowed her to experience the roles of parent and professional in regards to children with communication impairments.
