Special Needs for Your Extraordinary Kids
Camp Munroe is creating an Adaptive Sports League (ASL) and is now looking for participants ages 8 to 21 for an 8-week Fall sports session focusing on football and volleyball.
Our objective in this league is to improve our “adapthletes” social, gross motor, and hand-eye coordination skills through teaching techniques of the sports we love and grew up playing!
Tyler Cogswell, a Camp Munroe staff member and a special education teacher with Ashland-Greenwood Schools, has been coaching sports for several years. He is excited to help your athlete build foundational skills including body awareness, strength, flexibility, coordination and endurance as well as connection to other players promoting teamwork and awareness.
WHAT: This fall program will focus on learning to play football and volleyball.
WHERE: UNMC Munroe-Meyer Institute at 444 S 44th Street, Omaha, NE 68105
WHO: Individuals with a developmental disability ages 8-21 who have an interest in learning to play sports.
COST: $50 for 1 8-week session.
WHEN: Choose from two sessions: Tuesdays 6 – 7:30 p.m. Oct. 15 – Dec. 10. -or- Saturdays 12:30 – 2 p.m. Oct. 19 – Dec. 14.
