Do your kiddos with autism live in or near Council Bluffs? If so, you should look into joining the Council Bluffs Autism Support Group! As their website says, “We support the many issues involved in raising & educating a person with ASD. This group is open to those who care about a person with autism.”
They sponsor two major activities:
- Monthly Support Group – This group meets at Roosevelt Elementary on the 3rd Tuesday of each month. Free childcare is provided. Topics can vary, so bring a friend and meet the community!
- Annual Walk and Fun Event – Every year the Support Group puts on a FREE event with lots of activities for our kiddos followed by a quick walk around the campus of the Iowa School for the Deaf. All raised money is used to support families and educators touched by Autism.
If you would like more information about the group, their Facebook page is the place to go. It’s regularly updated with the latest info from the Support Group, alerts about other events in the area and lots of other tidbits for you and your family. Also, be sure to visit their website and register to join the Support Group and get additional updates.
We will be sure to include all future events of the Council Bluffs Autism Support Group in our Event Calendar.
